Pomfort Video Assist Software "Reeltime"
It was the first workshop of MOBY TEC GmbH, founded in Vienna in January. Topic: new approaches to Video Assist software. Guest speaker Wanja Nolte from Pomfort presented their Reeltime Video Assist software Reeltime and engaged in an in-depth discussion with a diverse group of industry professionals.
What was originally planned as a 90 minute presentation quickly evolved into an open dialogue lasting over three hours. The high level of participation and the wide range of perspectives clearly demonstrated the strong interest in new, practical solutions for everyday set work. Following the discussion, a get-together with hands-on opportunities provided ample opportunity for in-depth conversations and practical insights.
The workshop demonstrated the value of direct exchange between development, technology, and practical application. It wasn't about product presentation, but rather about collaboratively exploring how workflows on set can be made more efficient, stable, and future-proof.

Radio frequency management on film sets
Gemeinsam mit AAC, Filmton Austria und Leuchtkraft haben wir am Nikolo-Wochenende einen Workshop zum Thema Funkfrequenzmanagement am Filmset veranstaltet. Der Vortragende Gerhard Vonwald, der 40 Jahre Erfahrung als Hochfrequenztechniker in leitender Position mitbrachte, zeigte sich vom Interesse an diesem Workshop begeistert.
Es waren 2 intensive Workshop Tage. So manchem der 45 Teilnehmernden rauchte der Kopf bei den vielen theoretischen Grundlagen und und den praktischen Tipps für die Umsetzung.Es wurde alles behandelt: von der grundsätzlichen Funktionsweise von Funkwellen bis hin zur Richtcharakteristik von Antennen. Sogar Kabel können eine entscheidende Rolle bei Funktechnik spielen. Warum Glas nicht gleich Glas ist und wieso nasse Blätter ein Problem sein können, all das war Thema beim Workshop. So manche Messung ließ ein „Aaaahhh“ im Studio erklingen!
Es war schön zu sehen, wie das Verständnis für die Probleme des jeweiligen anderen Departments erweitert wurde. Auch die Fragen und Erfahrungen der Teilnehmer*Innen vertieften den Lerneffekt noch weiter.

Cinema Next: INFOTAG FILM 2025
The Austrian Film Academy, Dachverband - the umbrella organization of filmmakers, the Vienna Film Academy, and Cinema Next hosted the Film Information Day for the fourth time. The motto for 2025: Associations, networks, and interest groups.
The Austrian Assistant Camera Association was able to present itself, participate in the Q&A session, and advise interested parties at the foyer table. We made new contacts and – hopefully – ensured that we receive greater recognition within the Austrian film industry.
