16 & 35mm Loading Workshop - Reloaded
Von 1. bis 3. Dezember 2026 veranstalten wir in Kooperation mit dem AAC einen 3tätigen Workshop zum Film-Einlegen-Lernen.
Zielgruppe sind hauptberuflich arbeitende 2nd ACs / Clapper&Loader. Das Programm teilt sich in 1 Tag Theorie und 2 Tage Praxis.
Inhalte:
Einführung der Kameras allgemein, speziell am Beispiel ARRI 435 Filmmaterial Basiswissen 2-, 3-, 4-perf Material Magazine und Zubehör Dosen & Labels Berichte & Kalkulation Kameratest & Magazintest in der Vorbereitung Trouble Shooting, Buchempfehlungen & hilfreiche Apps
Der Workshop kann entweder an allen 3 Tagen oder an einzelnen Tagen besucht werden.
Alle Teilnehmenden des Loader Workshop 2022 sind herzlich willkommen, am Training Day teilzunehmen, um das eventuell lange unbenutzte Wissen vom letzten Mal zu testen und aufzufrischen!

Horn or Eye, Tag or Bug: Tools for Precision
Anfang 2027 findet in Wien ein 2tätiger Workshop für Fokus Assistenz Systeme statt.
Zielgruppe sind hauptberuflich arbeitende 1st ACs / Focus Puller.
Die Anforderungen an Focus Puller haben sich in den letzten Jahren spürbar verändert: Drehpläne werden dichter, Budgets knapper, und Proben finden oft nur noch eingeschränkt oder gar nicht statt. Gleichzeitig steigen die Ansprüche an die Schärfe: Große Sensoren, offene Blenden und bewegte Kamera lassen kaum Spielraum. Für 1st ACs / Focus Puller bedeutet das, einen Shot oft beim ersten Take treffen zu müssen, ohne vorher gesehen zu haben, wie er abläuft. Fokus-Assistenz-Systeme sind deshalb in kurzer Zeit vom Zusatzwerkzeug zum festen Bestandteil vieler Setups geworden.
In Zusammenarbeit mit ARRI Rental & MOBYTEC veranstalten wir einen Workshop, um die am Markt gängigen Fokus-Assistenz-Systeme direkt nebeneinander kennenzulernen und vergleichen zu können.
Jedes System erhält eine eigene Station mit Kamera und Hand Unit. Eine Repräsentantin, ein Repräsentant (oder eine vom Hersteller autorisierte Person mit umfassender Produktkenntnis) stellt das System vor. Die Teilnehmenden rotieren in Kleingruppen von 4–6 Personen, probieren selbst aus und stellen Fragen. In einer Set-Deko bereiten wir verschiedene Szenarien vor: Handkamera, Steadicam, Dolly, mit Crowd oder Boom. Den Vortragenden ist es überlassen, zum Einstieg einen kurzen Vortrag zu halten oder direkt einzusteigen, Manuals werden aufgelegt.
ARRI Rental Wien wird dem Workshop Kameras, Objektive, Wireless Camera Control, Handheld-Support und Monitoring zur Verfügung stellen.

Three days of QTAKE – a successful start at moby tec
From July 17th to 19th, 2026, the first 3-day QTAKE Operator Certification Workshop took place in Vienna. Eight dedicated participants worked together through the entire QTAKE ecosystem.
Day 1 focused on the fundamentals and daily work of a video operator. Day 2 centered on QTAKE Monitor, Sync, and cloud-based workflows. Day 3 introduced advanced VFX, CGI, and 3D applications and concluded with the official exam. Participants were able to work on three QTAKE workstations, replicating setups, solving tasks together, and putting their newly acquired knowledge into practice.
A particular highlight was the direct exchange with In2Core, the developer of QTAKE. In addition to personal discussions and an open Q&A session, participants gained insights into the future of the QTAKE ecosystem and a preview of QTAKE Pro 3.0. The manufacturer's presence underscored that the certification represents not just a training concept, but a shared long-term vision.
The atmosphere was just as important as the content. The small group size allowed for open discussions, individual questions, and an intensive exchange of experiences. The positive feedback is particularly gratifying!

Pomfort Video Assist Software "Reeltime"
It was the first workshop of MOBY TEC GmbH, founded in Vienna in January. Topic: new approaches to Video Assist software. Guest speaker Wanja Nolte from Pomfort presented their Reeltime Video Assist software Reeltime and engaged in an in-depth discussion with a diverse group of industry professionals.
What was originally planned as a 90 minute presentation quickly evolved into an open dialogue lasting over three hours. The high level of participation and the wide range of perspectives clearly demonstrated the strong interest in new, practical solutions for everyday set work. Following the discussion, a get-together with hands-on opportunities provided ample opportunity for in-depth conversations and practical insights.
The workshop demonstrated the value of direct exchange between development, technology, and practical application. It wasn't about product presentation, but rather about collaboratively exploring how workflows on set can be made more efficient, stable, and future-proof.

Radio frequency management on film sets
Together with AAC, Filmton Austria and Leuchtkraft we organized a workshop on the topic of radio frequency management on a film set. The speaker Gerhard Vonwald, who had 40 years of experience as a high-frequency engineer in a managerial position, was enthusiastic about the interest in this workshop.
It was 2 intensive workshop days. Many of the 45 participants had their heads spinning with all the theoretical basics and practical tips for implementation.Everything was covered: from the basic workings of radio waves to the directional characteristics of antennas. Even cables can play a crucial role in radio technology. Why not all glass is created equal, and why wet leaves can be a problem – all of this was covered in the workshop. Many measurements elicited gasps of "Aaaahhh!" from the studio!
It was great to see how the understanding of problems of other departments was broadened. The participants' questions and experiences further deepened the learning effect.

Cinema Next: INFOTAG FILM 2025
The Austrian Film Academy, Dachverband - the umbrella organization of filmmakers, the Vienna Film Academy, and Cinema Next hosted the Film Information Day for the fourth time. The motto for 2025: Associations, networks, and interest groups.
The Austrian Assistant Camera Association was able to present itself, participate in the Q&A session, and advise interested parties at the foyer table. We made new contacts and – hopefully – ensured that we receive greater recognition within the Austrian film industry.
